Pilot boat called in for Graemsay
Orkney Ferries has been unable to run the service from Stromness to Graemsay and Moaness in Hoy yesterday and today, Thursday and Friday, because of a combination of staff sickness and bad weather.
The company has been seeking a solution to the staffing problem and, weather permitting, the service to Graemsay and Hoy will resume on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the pilot vessel John Rae was due to call in at Graemsay today and took the opportunity to call first at Stromness to pick up goods awaiting delivery to the island.
Once the ferry service resumes, additional cargo is due to be carried to Graemsay on Monday.
