Plans to transform former dental surgery into boarding house approved

Plans to repurpose the former King Street dental surgery have been approved.

The conversion of the old King Street dental practice into  NHS Orkney accommodation has been approved by Orkney Islands Council’s planning committee.

The committee heard, this Wednesday morning, how the property would be used to provide boarding for visiting NHS staff. Stays would be for a few days to a week.

The committee approved plans to convert the property in to eight self contained units, as well as installing replacement windows, doors and air source heat pumps.
