Police continue missing man appeal

Police in Orkney are continuing with their appeal to trace local man Michael Ritch, who was last seen around 9pm

on Wednesday, July 23, and whose car was found in the Yesnaby area.

Michael is 33 years of age and described as being about 5′ 8″ tall, of slim build with short dark hair and last seen wearing a dark blue jacket over a dark blue polo shirt, blue denim jeans, brown shoes and a blue beanie style hat.

Police co-ordinated a search in the Yesnaby area today with assistance from HM Coastguard land search teams and the Stromness Lifeboat. These searches have now been stood down for today, which concluded with no postive sightings. Police enquiries will, however, be ongoing.

If anybody who has seen Michael, his red Skoda Fabia, or know of his current whereabouts, they are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.

It is also requested that members of the public in the local area please check sheds, garages and outbuildings to assist police as part of their ongoing enquiries.
