Power restored to north isles
It has  been confirmed by OLECG, the multi-agency Orkney Local Emergency Co-ordinating Group, that power has now been restored to all of the islands affected by recent power cuts and residents should no longer see issues with their supply.
Scottish Southern Energy (SSE) have traced the fault and repairs will commence by a team first thing tomorrow, Tuesday 12 April.
The isles that were affected were Shapinsay, Eday, Stronsay, Sanday and North Ronaldsay. All schools will be in session on Tuesday and start at normal time.
Given the commitment to assist with the restoration of power, Orkney Ferries will continue with the special timetable for Tuesday, 12 April, and passengers should check http://www.orkneyferries.co.uk
