Bounce Back to Netball comes to Orkney

netball
Bounce Back to Netball is aimed at encouraging individuals to either take up or return to netball while having fun and improving fitness.

A year old scheme aimed at encouraging people to return or take up recreational netball is set to be launched in Orkney tomorrow night with a free Bounce Back to Netball taster session due to take place at the Kirkwall Grammar School.

The session — due to go ahead on Wednesday, April 13 from 7pm – 8.30pm — will be the first time that Bounce Back to Netball has come to Orkney following its launch by Netball Scotland last year, and also encourages individuals to come along to have fun and improve fitness.

Run by a team of local volunteers, the taster session will be followed by a six-week block. Elaine Harcus, the Council’s Duty Officer for KGS Sports Centre, said: “We’re hoping for a great turnout on Wednesday. Already there has been interest from people who want to play netball in a sociable setting and work on their fitness at the same time.

“It will be an opportunity for people who want to be part of a team sport without the pressure of competition and a chance for folk to just have a laugh. We’re keen to add another session as well if there is enough interest so please come along!”
