Prison sentence for knife-point robbery
A man has been sentenced to three years and four months in prison for his part in a knife-point robbery.
William Dennis Mills, 21, previously admitted, while acting along with another, assaulting a man at a Kirkwall address, threatening him with violence, holding knives against his face and throat to his injury, and robbing him of £745 and a quantity of cannabis resin.
He appeared, from custody, at Kirkwall Sheriff Court this morning for sentencing.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood said: “I had the unpleasant job of sentencing your co-accused and I can see no reason to distinguish between you and him. This is as clear a case of people acting together in a planned criminal enterprise as can be imagined.”
Mills will also be subject to a supervision order for one year on his release.
