Recycling collection affected by high winds
Orkney Islands Council is advising that today’s recycling collection will be affected by high winds.
According to the council, their recycling vehicles will be attempting to collect where possible but households are advised that lighter items, such as paper and plastics, should not be put out for collection.
The recycling lorries bypassed some parts of Stromness yesterday morning due to the snow and an extra lorry was used in the afternoon to assist the collection. The council has said any recycling not picked up yesterday will be collected today as far as possible.
The Council apologies for any inconvenience caused.
