Rediscover Orkney’s past at Kirkwall book launch

The latest book from Orcadian author Howie Firth will be officially launched at an event in Kirkwall this evening, Thursday.

Orkney is a major work, bringing together every aspect of the county’s history and culture — from Picts to Vikings, shipwrecks to sea monsters.

Prior to the launch, which is being hosted by the Orkney Heritage Society, the author will present a talk, Picts, Vikings and rediscovering Orkney Past.

The event begins at 7.30pm in the St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall. Entry is free.
