Rising unemployment in Orkney

Just over 230 people in Orkney are registered as unemployed, according to latest figures.

That was broken down into 151 males and 81 females — 1.8 per cent of the total working population.

But that is a 28.9 per cent rise — 67 people — on the same period last year, October, 2010.
