Road-accident investigators due today

A police accident investigation team is due in the county later this morning, following Friday’s fatal accident outside Finstown.

The Kirkwall-Stromness road, just outside Finstown, remains closed to all traffic this morning and, according to police,  is likely to be closed until later on Saturday. Local diversions are in place and no significant traffic delays are anticipated.

The name of the 36-year-old man who died as a result of the incident has not yet been released.
