Roadworks to be carried out in Kirkwall

Orkney Islands Council is planning to carry out road maintenance and flag repairs on Albert Street and Bridge Street, in Kirkwall, on Thursday and Friday this week, resulting in road closures.

The council is advising that these roads will be closed to all vehicles between 9am and noon and again between 1pm and 3.30pm on both days, to enable the works to be carried out safely. There will be access to the roads for pedestrians through the duration.

Once works are completed, some areas where the repairs have been undertaken will remain covered by metal plates to protect the repairs until all materials have had sufficient time to cure.
