Run of show success continues for Upper Onston

At today’s Dounby Show, the supreme cattle champion for the sixth time in total and second successive year went to  Liam Muir, Upper Onston, Stenness.

Mr Muir took the title with the 20-month-old Limousin cross heifer Amelie, by Tehix and out of a British Blue cross cow.

Reserve went to G. T. and S. Coghill, Muce, Birsay, with a Limousin cross heifer, named The Duchess.

In the sheep section, the champion was a home-bred four-sheer ewe shown by W.G. Kirkpatrick, Tandou, Stromness, while reserve went to Alton and Vera Copland, Overhouse, Harray,with the Beltex gimmer, Orkney Suziebella.

Top in the horse and pony section was Artful Dodger, a 21-year-old gelding shown by the Reid Family, of Cruan, Firth. Reserve went to Sheila Ann Wylie, Swartland, Dounby, with the Irish draught cross Holstein, Swartlands Georgie girl.
