Search for missing divers is called off

Following extensive searches around Scapa Flow, police have confirmed that there is no sign of the two divers who went missing last week.

The two divers were reported missing last Tuesday during a dive around the German wreck  SMS Brummer.  They had been diving from on board the local dive boat Crusader.

Extensive searches by the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit from Aberdeen, along with a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), have taken place and were concluded over the weekend.

Air, sea and coastal searches have also taken place, including by Stromness Lifeboat, Coastguard helicopter and Coastguard Rescue Teams.

Police say there are no further searches planned.
