By the Shore – an afternoon of talk at the Stromness Museum
As part of this year’s Festival of Museums, the Stromness Museum will host an afternoon of free talks – By the Shore – tomorrow, Sunday, May 15.
The programme features Bryce Wilson (Washed Twice: Stromness Piers), Dr Hugo Anderson Whymark (Strange Cargo: Ballast on the Orkney Shore); Dr Jennifer Harland (An Archaeological View of the Stronsay Beast); ]ohn Crossley (Surviving salt and spray: plants that thrive by the sea); Dr Antonia Thomas (A Shore Connection: art, archaeology and landscape in Neolithic Orkney) and Janette Park (Curator’s Tour: Stromness Museum by the shore).
The afternoon’s proceedings will be chaired by Professor Jane Downes.
The talks last 20 minutes, with a break between each. In addition, there will be free entry to the museum all day.
