Sichel starts Big Apple challenge
Orkney ultra-distance runner William Sichel is due to begin a non-stop, six-day road running race in New York today.
Twenty-five men and 13 women, from 18 countries, are battling it out, over 144 hours, on a one-mile circuit at the city’s famous Flushing Meadow Park.
William, from Sanday, remains unbeaten in six-day races since his debut, in Monaco, in 2006 and he is currently ranked number two in the world.
