Slow Food seeks Orkney leader

Slow Food UK is looking for a food-loving individual to set up a Slow Food group in Orkney, and are welcoming applications from volunteers who feel they can promote and enjoy the Slow Food way of life in the county.

Slow Food International is a global, grassroots organisation, with supporters in 150 countries, that links the pleasure of food and drink with a commitment to the community and the environment. It is a non-profit, member-supported association.

Catherine Gazzoli, CEO of Slow Food UK said: “With such an abundance of wonderful food and drink being produced on Orkney, we want to encourage the community to enjoy nutritious and sustainable food and we are looking for someone with real enthusiasm to build up a membership through events and activities that will help to spread the word.

“We are getting great support from local whisky producers Highland Park to establish an Orkney Slow Food group, we just need a few volunteers to help get the ball rolling.”
