St Magnus Festival recordings to feature on BBC Radio 3

Recordings from this year’s St Magnus International Festival are to be featured on BBC Radio 3’s lunchtime concerts, from this coming Tuesday onwards.

Tuesday’s concert will feature the Trondheim Soloists, whilst Steven Osborne’s solo piano recital will be broadcast the following day.

Duo van Vliet — Rafal Luc and Ian Anderson — perform a programme of music for accordion and viola on Thursday at 1pm whilst on Friday pianist Ashley Fripp and clarinettist Joseph Shiner perform music by Schumann and Debussy.

Meanwhile, the Trondheim Soloists will be performing ‘I, Pilgrim’ by Jon Fosse and Festival Artistic Director, Alasdair Nicolson, in Rome on Sunday, October 15.

The premiere opened the Festival in June in the presence of the Crown Prince for Norway, Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit and it was also part of the St Olav Festival in Trondheim in July.
