Stromness join Holm in the Parish Cup final
Stromness joined Holm in The Orcadian Parish Cup final as they overcame St Andrews 2-1 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate.
With Stromness leading 3-2 from the first leg, the first goal was always going to be crucial. Played in just about perfect conditions, Sinclair Peace gave St Andrews hope when he calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with a penalty on twenty minutes.
However it wasn’t long before Stromness levelled. Ross Slater attempted to twinkle toe his way to goal but ran into a sea of red and white shirts, the ball broke to Liam Martin who lashed it home from twelve yards.
Stromness right back Graeme Bain swept the ball home to make it 2-1 on the night and ensure Stromness reach their first Parish Cup final since 1998.
