Stromness jubilee festivities
On Monday, June 4, a jubilee bonfire, barbecue and beacon event, will take place, from 9pm, at the top of Brinkie’s Brae, in Stromness. The beacon will be lit after 10pm to coincide with others around the county.
The event is free and donations will be welcomed towards the Stromness parish church roof.
Please note this event takes place on Monday, June 4 , not Tuesday, June 5, as previously announced.
Then, on Tuesday, a day of celebrations is taking place at the Stromness Town Hall. The festivities include, a scavenger hunt at 11 am, starting at the Town Hall, the Queen’s Tea Party, at noon, and a party for nursery and schoolchildren in the afternoon. Â The party for nursery age to P2 (inclusive), Â is from 2.30pm till 3.30pm and P3 to S2 (inclusive) from 3.30pm until 5pm.
