Stromness Lifeboat called to sick diver
The Stromness lifeboat was launched to assist a sick diver yesterday, Thursday.
The crew were called out at around 10.48am on Thursday, December 29, to help a diver who had taken ill in Scapa Flow.
After leaving the berth at 10.57am, Stromness Lifeboat transferred the casualty on board from the dive boat at 11.13am.
A spokesperson from Stromness Lifeboat explained that the crew gave the diver first aid before the lifeboat arrived back in Stromness Harbour, at 11.28am. There, a doctor was waiting to transfer the casualty to an ambulance for a check-up.
“He was given the ‘all clear’ and was later spotted walking down the street by one of the lifeboat crew,” they said.
