Strongmen set for charity challenge

A group of local powerlifters are aiming to lift more than 100 tonnes at a charity event in Kirkwall this afternoon.

The strongman challenge is being run in aid of CLAN, and has been organised by Paul Suggitt, who won the Orkney’s Strongest Man title earlier this year.

He will be joined by a group of local strongmen, who between them are aiming to lift more than 100,000kg.

The event is being staged at the Orkney Riding Centre and is set to get under way at 2pm.
