Suspended head of legal services leaves council
The suspended head of Orkney’s Islands Council’s legal services department left the local authority as part of the management reorganisation last month.
Fiona MacDonald, who was assistant director (law and administration), was suspended last year amid allegations of bullying within the workplace.
The solicitor advocate, who previously worked for the Scottish Legal Aid Board, joined the council in September, 2008.
The council declined to comment on claims that Ms MacDonald received a settlement.
