Sweden challenge for Sichel

Orkney’s ultra-marathon runner William Sichel is due to start competing in the Skovde UltraFestival 48-hour track race in Sweden today.

The race, which begins at 11am UK time, will see 16 runners endlessly circle the track, almost non-stop, until 11am on Sunday.

William, from Sanday, last competed in an ultra-distance race in April, when he became the first British athlete to make the podium in the Sri Chimnoy Six-Day road race in New York.
