Three Orcadians honoured in New Year’s list

Retiring Papdale Primary School heead teacher Jane Bruce is one of three Orcadian’s honoured in the Queen’s New Year list.

Three well-known Orkney faces have been included in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List, published this evening, Friday.

Receiving the British Empire Medal will be former Girl Guiding county commissioner Joyce Tulloch, while an MBE has been awarded to Papdale Primary School’s retiring head teacher, Jane Bruce, and Friends of St Magnus honorary secretary and treasurer, David Oddie.
