Three reporters shortlisted for media awards

Three of The Orcadian’s journalists are in the running for industry accolades, after the unveiling of the Highlands and Islands Media Awards shortlist.

The three journalists are contending for four prizes at the annual event, with two reporters up for two awards each.

Trainee reporter Ethan Flett is shortlisted for the Young Journalist of the Year Award.

Sub-editor Mark Harcus is one of the four nominees for the Reporter of the Year Award.

Mark and chief reporter Sarah Sutherland are both shortlisted for the Business Award, with Sarah also up for the Feature Writer of the Year Award.

The awards is set to take place at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness on Friday, February 4.
