Traffic accidents

Police have reported two traffic accidents taking place within the last two days.

The first was reported at 8.15am yesterday morning on the road from Kirkwall to Deerness. The accident involved a car and a van and, according to police, there were no injuries.

The second accident occurred around 12.10pm this afternoon, at the Brodgar junction of the main Kirkwall to Stromness road.

Police say the accident involved three vehicles, with an ambulance attending in order to treat one female who sustained minor injuries.

The road was closed off until being partially re-opened at 1pm.
