Traffic lights in Kirkwall

From this Monday, February 3, until Friday, February 14, there will be a system of two-way traffic lights operating in Kirkwall from the junction of Laing Street and Queen Street to the junction of Willowburn Road and Queen Street.

The works, conducted by Andrew Sinclair Ltd, are to allow for the installation of a new British Telecom duct in the footpath along Queen Street.

As part of the works, due to the narrow road, the on-street parking along Queen Street, will also be coned off and suspended, to allow room for temporary works and an alternative pedestrian footpath.
