Two new COVID cases confirmed
Another two people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Orkney in the last 24 hours.
NHS Orkney consultant in public health Sara Lewis said the new cases were linked.
Ms Lewis said: “We advise that everyone should continue to follow the guidance. Be very careful as this is highly infectious and not everyone is symptomatic.”
She added that everyone who could, should be working from home and employers needed to enable this wherever possible.
“If you can’t work from home ensure you have adequate protection and that the environment is well aired.”
The number of test-positive cases in Orkney since the start of the pandemic has now risen to 53, and there have been eight cases since last Friday.
Anyone experiencing COVID symptoms of a temperature, a new and continuous cough, and loss of taste or sense of smell should contact the COVID Assessment Centre for a test. The number to call is 888211.
