Waulkmill ‘rubbish’ was intended for beach party
Orkney Islands Council’s environmental health service has confirmed that an individual has taken responsibility for the recent flytipping incident at Waulkmill and will be interviewed by environmental health officers.
Environmental health officer Paul Turner said: “It seems that the rubbish was placed there for a bonfire party that never took place. With schools breaking up next week, it’s a timely reminder to people that leaving rubbish on a beach or any unauthorised place in not only unsightly, it’s illegal.”
