In this week’s edition of The Orcadian
This week’s paper is now available from all the usual outlets and online, here.
This week’s front page features the story of the South Ronaldsay scallop diver, Ivan Doychev, who was rescued after spending 11 hours drifting in the Pentland Firth last week.
He has praised the efforts of the coastguard, and others, in searching for him.
However, an Orkney fisherman has said Mr Doychev would have been found within two hours if the searchers had listened to advice.
Also in this week’s paper:
• Who’s in and who’s out. Full coverage from last week’s local council election.
• An Orkney netball player sets her sights on the world stage as she prepares for her debut on the Scottish Under-21 team this weekend.
