BID Halloween Parade, Kirkwall
Led by the Kirkwall Pipe Band, spooky guisers of all ages will parade through the streets of Kirkwall, this afternoon (Saturday).
With the parade set to leave the Pier Head at 3pm, there’s still just enough time for you to get your costume looked out and join in the fun.
Halloween Ball, The Sound Archive, Kirkwall
Join Orkney’s own heavy metal machine — Electric Mother — as they present a night chock full of bone chilling “chunes,”  tonight (Saturday).
Kicking off at 9pm, this looks set to be a wicked night of music and fun. With a mandatory costumes rule in place, this a chance for you to strut your stuff in your goriest and ghouliest attire.
Orkney Storytelling FestivalÂ
Ready for some spooky stories — and maybe a few heartwarming ones too?
The 8th annual Orkney Storytelling Festival kicked off this Thursday with a story walk around Orphir cemetery.
With fun activities and talks set to take place throughout the weekend, this year’s festival promises entertainment for local people and visitors alike.
As always, there will be opportunities for audience members to take part at Open Mic events, including the festival’s Grand Finale at The Old Library Kirkwall on Sunday night.
Full Circle, The Exhibition Room, Kirkwall
If you’d rather avoid the grim and an ghoulish, this weekend. Why not take a relaxing stroll around the latest exhibition by Eileen Sclater.
A selection of Eileen’s work is due to go on display today (Saturday at the Exhibition Room in The Old Library, Kirkwall, 36 years after she first displayed her work at the Laing Street premises.
Now back home again in Orkney with a small studio overlooking Hoy Sound, Eileen is pleased to be exhibiting once again in The Old Library.
This exhibition — Full Circle — will be on display until Saturday, November 25.Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the opening of a new exhibition of paintings, drawings and monoprints at the Orkney Museum, Kirkwall, by Stromness artist, Mirran Hall.
