999 services restored at Hoy exchange

BT has reported that 999 services, through their Hoy exchange, are once again working normally.

A BT spokesman said this morning that a “hardware fault at Hoy radio station around 7am this morning resulted in the loss of telephony and 999 service to 168 customers in nearby areas.

Engineers travelled by ferry to the island this morning and restored service at 10.45am.
