Orkney FC will be hoping to put their heavy league defeat to Halkirk United behind them tomorrow afternoon as they continue their defence of the Ness Cup with a home semi-final clash against Thurso FC.

While last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to North Caledonian League leaders Halkirk will represent a major disappointment, Charlie Alway and his men will be putting that disappointment behind them and will be determined to reach back-to-back final’s of a competition they won last year. A late Ross McQuillan goal sealed Orkney’s place in the semi-final as they edged past Alness United in a 3-2 thriller the previous round.

With the match being played at the KGS 3G pitch with a scheduled kick-off time of 12.30pm, home support will be key for the islanders. Orkney and Thurso have met twice already this season — both times on league duty — with one win apiece.
