All schools to close due to adverse weather

Orkney Islands Council has confirmed that all schools in the county will be closing at 2.30pm today, Monday, due to adverse weather conditions.

There is currently a Met Office yellow weather warning in place for Orkney, with predictions of up to 75 mph gusts.

The council has said that the early closure of schools will allow pupils to travel home in daylight.
