Bag the Bruck and help clean up Orkney

The annual Bag the Bruck beach cleanup took place at the weekend — Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21.

Organised by Environmental Concern Orkney, Bag the Bruck is now in its 21st year.

Susan Ferguson, from ECO, explained: “This cleanup operation is only successful because we have willing volunteers who are prepared each year to give up their time. Some of our stalwarts collect all year round, which is a superb effort.”

Susan added: “Living here in Orkney, we are so fortunate to live with such diverse countryside and fantastic coastline, and most people do respect this and our amazing wildlife.

“The Bag the Bruck supporters have, over the years, valiantly cared for their local environment by successfully clearing tonnes of rubbish from the countryside.”
