Disruption to recycling pick ups due to weather

Orkney Islands Council’s recycling crews have reported that they are having difficulty collecting recycling in the West Mainland, due to today’s strong winds.

As a result, particularly exposed houses in the area may not have their recycling picked up today.

With the next couple of days also forecast to be windy, the council has said it is more than likely there will also be disruption to collections tomorrow, Friday. Paper and plastic collections are the least likely to be collected.
