Sheep-worrying warning from police

Police are reminding dog owners to ensure their pets are under control following reports of sheep worrying in Orkney.

As lambing season approaches, dog owners are reminded of the requirement to ensure dogs are properly controlled. Stress caused by uncontrolled dogs can cause ewes to abort.

Dog owners could be reported to the procurator fiscal for sheep worrying and the courts could order the destruction of the dog.
