Extensive roadworks over the next six weeks

Orkney Islands Council is warning motorists that extensive roadworks will be taking place in the county over the next six weeks.

Works will begin next week and will last through to the end of March, affecting (at various times) the main Kirkwall to Stromness road, other roads in and around Stromness, the Harray road, Orphir, St Ola, Tankerness and Deerness. As a result motorists can expect minor delays.

According to the council, this is due to work being carried out by BT Openreach.
