Football and hockey squads revealed for weekend County fixtures

Orkney’s senior county football and hockey squads have been named ahead of Saturday’s annual fixtures against Shetland.

The football squad will be looking to retain the Milne Cup which they won on home soil last year while the hockey players will be looking to hold on to the Lady Hamilton Cup which they won in some style last year.

Both fixtures will be played in Shetland, with the hockey match taking place in Brae in the afternoon before the football clash is played out at the Gilbertson Park, in Lerwick, in the evening.

The 16-man football squad is:- Paul Bain (Thorfinn), Davy Leonard (Rovers), Gareth Manson (Rendall), Hamish Flett (Rendall), Craig Stout (Thorfinn), Magnus Flett (Rovers), Chris Simspon (Rovers), Aiden Drever (Rovers), Thorfinn Stout (Thorfinn), DJ Moffat (Thorfinn), Adam Stanger (Rovers), Kyran Taylor (Thorfinn), David Delday (Thorfinn), Steven Edwards (Rovers), John Pickles (Rendall), Erik Bews (Thorfinn).

The 13 members of the Orkney hockey squad are:- Lynn Cursiter (Corinthian), Lisa Groundwater (Corinthian), Karen Brough (Kirkwall Ladies), Kirsty Gilbert (Kirkwall Ladies),  Hannah Cromarty (Corinthian), Inga Kemp (St Andrews), Jennie Pickles        (Corinthian), Fiona Miller (St Andrews), Shona Slater (Dounby), Joanne Pottinger (St Andrews), Charlotte Thomson (Corinthian), Lauren Gilmour (Dounby), Aimee Drever (St Andrews).
