GlastonBurray is back
Fifteen bands; two charities and an atmosphere that would rival any of the big hitters on the festival scene — GlastonBurray is back for 2016.
Making its debut in the Burray Hall last year, the line-up of ten local bands wowed crowds, who soaked up the festival atmosphere, many choosing to pack the tent and camp for the night.
This year, GlastonBurray kicks off at 3pm this afternoon with a bigger line-up.
Proceeds from the event will again go to the Burray Hall, which is badly in need of a new roof, and the school PTA, which is raising funds for play equipment at the school.
Ticket-holders will enjoy performances by The Burray and ‘Hope School Band; The Burray Blues Club; Jenny Hall; Eamon Keys (formerly of The Answer); Rysa (Orkney Folk Festival Open Stage winners); The Polkadots; Charlie Wallhead; May 11 (formerly known as The Sammy Cooper Band); Gnoss; The Driftwood Cowboys; No Chair (a combination of The Chair and No Soond); Camron Dowell and the KGB; The Dirty Rotters; Rocker; and The Andy Taylor Group.
Organiser Douglas Montgomery said: “It’s going to be a really great night, with a real festival atmosphere to get folk in the mood for the summer.”
