Health board select Scapa site for new hospital

NHS Orkney has gone with public opinion at selected the Scapa site for the replacement Balfour Hospital.

The health board are meeting in Kirkwall this evening and, at the time of writing, the meeting is ongoing.

However, the unanimous decision of the board was to go with the Scapa site, as recommended by chief executive Cathie Cowan.

The meeting, which is open to the public, began at 6pm.
