Heavy defeat for Orkney RFC against GHK

Orkney will be hoping to get back to winning ways but East Kilbride are bringing a large travelling support to cheer their team on.

Orkney RFC suffered a heavy 65-5 defeat against unbeaten league leaders GHK as the islanders were ultimately outclassed in Glasgow this afternoon. GHK — aiming to make it 11 wins from 11 eleven games — made a lightning quick start to the game, opening the scoring within ten minutes to make it 5-0. This would set the tone for the remainder of the game as the away side struggled to contain the home side.

GHK led 34-0 at half-time and added to the scoreline in the second period making it 53-0 before Orkney added a try of their own. However, GHK were too strong and eventually ran out 65-5 winners to make it 30 league games unbeaten for the Glasgow side.
