RSPB is seeking a skilled individual to join our Orkney reserves team as our Estate Worker.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in using their hands-on practical experience to help us manage our land for wildlife and people. The role will be focused on using a range of machinery to improve the condition of our habitats, and you will also be keeping structures such as fences, hides and paths in good order. It would suit someone with great practical skills and knowledge, and a keen interest in land management and agricultural machinery, who enjoys working outdoors in all weathers. We have a Soucy Track tractor, and much of your work will involve using this to top our wetter fields and so improve them for breeding waders.
You will lead on and be responsible for estate and machinery maintenance. We’d like you to keep our machinery and vehicles safe and in good working order, and to carry out infrastructure and access checks on our reserves.
