
Practice Manager
Practice Manager needed in Kirkwall
Scholes CA is recruiting for a new Practice Manager to oversee operations across all of our offices. Community is core to everything we do, so this role is entirely in-person at our base in Kirkwall, Orkney.
We’re looking for a leader with great communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You should be able to tackle problems head-on, devising innovative solutions that can benefit the wider team.
Financial acumen is a clear necessity, but we are also looking for someone with a drive to develop the business and nurture our client relationships.
What you’ll do:
Manage daily operations, resource allocation, workflow, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
Lead, mentor, train, and supervise a team of support staff.
Act as a key contact for client queries, build strong relationships, and ensure high client satisfaction.
Manage the firm’s sales ledger and monitor practice KPIs.
Support growth by identifying new business opportunities and representing the firm.
Contribute to strategic planning, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Maintain regulatory standards such as AML (Anti-Money Laundering), GDPR, and liaising with professional bodies (e.g. ICAS, ACCA), HM Revenue & Customs and insurance brokers.
Champion digital transformation by managing software and implementing automated workflows.
Manage contracts of employment, process the setup of new employees on all systems and maintain all personnel files.
