Kirkwall Lifeboat Sunday launch

Kirkwall Lifeboat was launched earlier today after a local fishing boat suffered engine failure off Tankerness.
The lifeboat was launched just before 10.30am and headed towards the vessel Fair Fortune, with three crew onboard, which was in a position off Rerwick Head.
The lifeboat, with coxswain Stewart Ryrie and six crew onboard,then towed the fishing boat back to Kirkwall, arriving alongside shortly before noon.
This was the fourth service for Kirkwall Lifeboat so far this year.
