Kirkwall RNLI in yacht rescue

Kirkwall Lifeboat was called out last night, Monday, to tow in a yacht which was suffering from engine problems in calm conditions off Deerness.
The crew was called out shortly after 6.30pm to go to the assistance of the yacht, Kimista, which had two people onboard. It was under sail but not making much headway, given the calm weather and tidal conditions in the area.
The lifeboat towed the yacht into Kirkwall in the flat calm weather, but with heavy rain, arriving alongside at Kirkwall Marina just after 8.30pm.
