Lammas Fair in Kirkwall

The age-old tradition of the Lammas Fair is set to be recreated today, with a day of family festivities due to take place in Kirkwall.

The event is being organised by BID Kirkwall, and from 11am until 4pm many Kirkwall Town Centre businesses will take to the streets to show-off their wares, while children’s fun stalls, buskers, the fire engine and a car wash will also feature.

A retail market is to be set-up in the Bridge Street car park and a fashion parade, led by the Rendall Pipe Band, is due to begin from the car park at 2pm.
