‘Landscape and Stone’ at the Waterfront

Two artists inspired by Orkney have joined together to produce an art exhibition displaying textured pastels and stone lithography.

Landscape and Stone opens at the Waterfront Gallery, Stromness, today and features the work of Cumbria-based artist Diana Merrick and Julian Milner.

Diana Merrick’s work is inspired by the Orkney landscape, coastline and its ancient standing stones and in this exhibition she focuses on the Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar.

Julian Milner uses an antique printing press and heavy blocks of limestone to create his stone lithographs of local scenes, standing stones and still life.

The exhibition runs until May 14.
