Local players will take on darts stars

The line-up of players who have qualified to play against the professionals at the Tennent’s Orkney Darts Classic has now been decided, following the last open qualification event organised by the Kirkwall and District Darts League.

The Tennent’s Orkney Darts Classic is due to be held on September 1, and will once again see eight of the biggest names in professional darts travel to the county.

The line up of local players are: Iain Wilkie, Derek Firth, Robbie Stanger, Stevie Linklater, Mike Bain, Mal Reid, Ivan Leslie and Kevin Gray. The eight professionals are Raymond Van Barneveld, James Wade, Mark Webster, Co Stompe, Vincent Van Der Voort, Arron Monk, John Henderson and Simon Whitlock, who won last year’s competition.
