Motorist airlifted after Rousay accident
A road traffic accident in Rousay on Monday afternoon saw the female driver of a car being airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) for treatment.
The woman was kept in overnight on Monday for observation, and police have described her injuries as “non life-threatening.”
The two-vehicle accident, which also involved a 4×4 driven by another female, happened shortly after 5pm, near Quoys.
According to police, the driver of the car was cut from the vehicle by fire service crews before being taken to ARI by coastguard helicopter.
The driver of the 4×4 was transferred by ambulance to the Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall.
